“This is our second visit this year. The site is clean and very tidy. The toilets and the showers are first class. Full service pitches make life easy. They have a very good cafe that does takeaways. The indoor pool is a real bonus ( small charge to keep it clean and heated) the staff are the most helpful we have come across. A real bonus for us is the restaurant by the castle. Very good food and at a price you can eat each day and relax after enjoying a drink. This is a good site to stay at and we are looking forward to our next visit.”

“We have stayed here a few times now and always love the spacious camping pitches. The kids have plenty of room to run and play without us worrying about disturbing neighbors. The pool, Lairds park, and food delivery to our site are great options, though there seemed to be a few minor mix-ups and delays that were quickly resolved. The staff are friendly and the facilities are generally good. However, we noticed the cleanliness of the toilets and showers has slipped, and the outdoor dishwashing area needs some attention. While we understand it is a peak period, everyone in our group commented on this. Overall, it is still a great site and we will definitely return!”

“We have spent many holidays at castle Cary and love it, I understand that after the bank holiday the site was quite but it would have been nice to still be able to use the outdoor pool, it was a bit of a come down when the pub was shut and the games room and shop closed early, we normally visit for Easter and August bank holiday but maybe next year we might drop August and come earlier in the season”

“Facilities v good, showers v good, kids loved the pools.
But if you are in a tent without electric, insist on a pitch a proper distance from the A75, otherwise expect to get very little sleep. If we had stayed more than two night we would have asked to move. Still cannot believe the site manager thought it was a good idea to place us beside the trees and less than 10m from the road.”
